Sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses

Emaline and I spend many days running around and often her Aunt Sarah joins us. On this day we went shopping in the morning, had lunch with Grandpa Dave, then entertained guests at our house that evening. Yet in the midst of it all we try to remember to stop and smell the roses (ha, ha!).

Summer here we come!

The Ashley's spent every moment enjoying the beautiful weather during this past Saturday. Jim woke early to do some chores and get me breakfast while Emaline and I slept late:) We made a quick trip to the mall and then had lunch with Sarah. After a heavy workout on Sarah's Wii Fit (ha, ha!) we went to the salon for a haircut. I am the only one who got a haircut but, it was a girl's outing anyway. Then, we sat outside and enjoyed a bottle (that was just Emme). Next, we were off to the driving range to shag some golf balls. Finally, we decided to have an impromtu barbeque at our house and got to spend a great evening with my sisters and brother-in-law, as well as, Grandma Gigi. It was a jam packed great day!

Memorial Holiday

Just a quick update. Emaline had a very big weekend for the Memorial Holiday. We went to the Dog Olympics at Mom and David's to celebrate the life of our families loyal companion of 18 years Buddy, who we lost last year. Rosie did very well in the competition this year coming in 2nd (we were very proud). After this we went to Jimmy's cousin Holly's house to celebrate her little boy Tanner's 1st birthday. Then we packed up the baby and dogs and headed for the lake. Unfortunately it rained all weekend and Emaline did not get to sport the adorable new swimsuit that Genesis and Chris got her but, we are hopeful for good weather in a couple of weeks. We did get to visit with my family and enjoy some relaxation despite the rain. I have included some pictures of Emme playing in the exersaucer type toy that cousin Melody sent us. While she is really still too small for it we let her in there for short amounts of time because she loves it so much! Also, one of her in the party dress that never made it to Tanner's party (oh well).
Finally, one of Rosie basking in the glow of her almost win! Hope everyone had a great holiday!

3 Months Old

Emaline is 3 months old tomorrow and I thought it might be time for an update. She is now around 23 inches long and about 13.5 pounds. She is talking up a storm especially for her Dad lately. She continues to grow stronger and loves sitting, and standing to get a better view of her kingdom. I have included pictures taken by her Uncle Chris while playing at his house, some snapshots of her playing at our house with Rosie and Caroline, and a night out on the town at Kai to celebrate her Aunt Sarah's graduation. We have a trip planned for the Memorial Holiday down to the lake so I should get some good shots then too. Hope everyone is doing well!

10 Weeks Old!

Emaline is ten weeks old today and gets more fun by the minute. Since my last post we have been to the doctor for a well baby check and the first round of vaccines. She weighed in at 11 lbs. 11 oz. (one week ago) and that put her in the 75th percentile. She is 22.25 inches long and that is in the 50th percentile. She got very upset with her shots and screamed so hard she burst some capillaries in her forehead and eyes. The next 24 hours she was a little off but, nothing too bad.

Emme is now showing definite recognition of both Jimmy and me. She looks us in the eye and smiles when we come in her line of vision. She is grabbing items within her reach now (often putting them in her mouth) and can hold them for longer periods of time. She still loves to stand and be pulled to a sitting position but, is no fan of tummy time so we work on that several times a day.

We have been out visiting a lot in the last week including dinner at a friends; dinner with Genesis, Chris, and Sarah; a trip to Great Southern to see my co-workers; girls game night with the
BKD crew; and trips to two Grandma's. I have included some pictures of our trip to Phelps Grove park last Saturday, as well as, some from around the house. We hope everyone is doing as well as Miss Emaline, talk to you all soon!

Jimmy's First Saturday of Freedom

Jimmy enjoyed his first Saturday off after tax season by sleeping in and taking his family to Rockin Ribs. We had a great day and couldn't be any happier to have a husband and daddy again!

Too Cool for School

Someone thinks they are "Joe Cool" until they lose their binkie. I guess we're not as big as we thought we were.
